Digital signature for PDF
Internet protocol AS2 in EDI communication established the value of Digital Signature in authenticating EDI business documents. The release of i-effect V1R3 now makes this level of authentication available for any PDF document as well.
You can combine i-effect spool converter with the modules *CRYPT and *EMAIL to send, for example, a digitally signatured, i.e. fully authenticated, Purchase Order to a supplier. The Purchase Order, created by the AS/400, is converted to PDF format by the *SPOOL i-effect module, *CRYPT adds a Digital Signature, and *EMAIL sends the Purchase Order to the supplier. A copy of the outgoing email is filed in the i-effect internal archive. Should you need to, you can resend the email from the logbook without having to repeat all the processes. The logbook also provides the status of all your emails.
