Roger Dyson website
The previous version of Roger Dyson website looked almost the same. However, it had no special facilities for managing its content, requiring staff to follow complex and cumbersome process each time anything had to be changed.
Since website was built using mostly static files and a few ASP pages, the most sensible thing was to rebuild everything. We've quickly reimplemented old site functionality and added easy web-based administration interface - all using our Topaz framework.
Features
- Administration:
- Products, static pages and various other bits of text can be edited via web browser.
- There's no special administration panel - once logged in, administrator can browse the site and edit pages he sees.
- Uploaded images are automatically scaled and optimized for thumbnails and previews.
- Products can have any number of properties and images.
- Menu and category pages are created/updated automatically.
- Websites code is using only CSS for layout and clean XHTML code.
- Layout is very flexible - works fine in all common screen resolutions and won't break if users significantly increase preferred font size.
- Dynamic pop-up menu has been reimplemented to be accessible and search engine-friendly.
- All content has clean, readable page addresses (URLs).
